Bhagwat Geeta's Sankhya Yog : Science of Birth and Death

 Bhagwat Gita : Sankhya Yog
Lord Vishnu

Bhagwat Geeta is a book which is a unbreakable chain between science and spirituality. The science present in it gives you the practical knowledge and the spirituality connected with it gives you the base. The combination of this two things helps you to do Niskam Karma (as per the Karmayog : coming soon). So let's start...

In Geeta, this chapter was told by Krishna to destroy attractions and attachment of Arjun. Krishna tells Arjun that how a life is there in existence. So basically the motive of this Yog is to get liberty from 'Moh'(attraction) and 'Maya'(attachment) to become a Niskam Karmyogi and live with absolute happiness among this world.

Our body is basically made with different types of systems like nervous system, digestive system etc. and this system comprises  of organs like stomach, brain etc. and this organs are made from different types of tissues, this tissues are made from cells which is smallest unit of living body. This cell has its own body, it has cell organelles which are made from vitamins and minerals. These minerals and vitamins are made from molecules which are made from different types of atoms. All the atoms are made from three particles which are neutron, proton and electron. Which have different charges and every matter on earth is made up of atoms. Everything you see around you and your body is made up of atoms.

So logically, there is no difference between your body and the land on which you are staying. Now the question raised in Arjun's mind, then why there is difference in the actions and nature of people. Krishna answered, There are three types of Gunns in the body, which are Tamas, Rajas and Sattva. Tamas is a Gunn where person lives like an animal, just to fulfill its basic requirement, and never thinks about anything else. Sattva is a Gunn where a person acts by keeping pleasure of everyone in mind. Rajas is Gunn where person knows everything and has a power of identifying what is good or bad but still does everything according to his desires and he is always attached with his desires and he is arrogant. Unequal levels and combinations of these three Gunns decides the Nature of a person and he works according to his nature.

Now, the body with everything fitted inside requires energy for survive and combination of energy and body makes the Prakruti. The thing which lives inside this body and acts is an Ansh of Parmatma ( God ) which is also called Atma. The combination of Atma and Prakruti makes a life.

Basically, nothing dies, everything takes change. The atma is immortal it can never die, it just changes its body. If we talk about the body, after death body is burned or burry in ground, then it may be converts into minerals or mixes in air. It goes where it is.

So Krishna is saying that everything including relations, friendships, enmity and even the identity is only for the body. But the love is always for the Atma which stays in it and never dies, then why should anyone keep any type of attraction or attachment with the body only?

So with the help of this Yog, Krishna destroys the Moh and Maya of Arjun.
